there is nothing more weird than reading a fanfiction someone wrote in 2006. where are these people now? are they doing okay? have they found love? do they have kids? so much can happen in 8 years

Sometimes I get reviews and messages from people who read fanfic I wrote 5 years ago saying they enjoyed it and a part of me is like “Aww that’s so sweet.” And the other part is like “I should have deleted that awful writing ages ago!”

  5. "Later, after Trek was on the air, the producers used the network’s concerns about sexuality to their advantage — they would deliberately put sexy stuff into episodes for the network to freak out about, so the censors wouldn’t notice other things. For example, in the episode “A Private Little War,” the producers deliberately put in a scene of Kirk having an open-mouth kiss with a half-naked woman, so the network could throw a fit about that — and not notice the blatant Vietnam allegory."

10 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About The Original Star Trek (via mediahascookies)

THIS IS WHAT STAR TREK IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT

    (via bookishbutcorruptible)

When JJ Abrams decided that he didn’t like the “philosophy” of Star Trek, this is some of the stuff he was knocking.

    (via grouchythefish)

I guess the T&A distracted Abrams so much so that he missed the allegorical aspects too.

Pretty sure that’s Kirchoff’s Voltage Law being applied to an electrical circuit and it is, in fact, basic arithmetic? Physics is very different from Mathematics.

INTELLIGENCE IS NOT MEASURED IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF MATH

INTELLIGENCE CAN BE MEASURED BY YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF MATHS, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE MEASURED BY SO MANY OTHER THINGS, YOU CAN BE SHIT AT MATHS AND STILL BE INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT.

INTELLIGENCE CANNOT BE MEASURED IN ONE WAY, PEOPLE ARE TALENTED AT DIFFERENT THINGS, DO NOT DEMORALIZE THE INTELLIGENCE OF THOSE WHO ARE GOOD AT MATHS TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL BETTER, GOOD DAY.

What if someone said intelligence is not measured in your ability to read? Its true. Intelligence is not a measured by your ability to read. But we know how important it is to be able to read. Illiteracy is a problem. Innumeracy is also a problem. Dare I say, its a bigger problem.

  9. Interested in a DIY Postcard Swap?

I thought a tumblr wide diy postcard swap would be lots of fun. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll organize the whole thing. It’ll be similar to the iHanna diy postcard swap (except free of charge, because I figure we’re all broke).
